- When am I going to hear back after applying?
We aim to respond to applications within 14 days. Due to high volumes of applications, it is not always possible for us to respond to every application.
- Why do I have to complete an online assessment?
Our online assessment is a core part of our hiring process. Whilst not an IQ test, the assessment gives us an indicator of how quickly you can digest and apply information. For more information on this, check out How we Hire.
- Who are Advanced?
We are the third largest software company in the UK, and probably the biggest company you’ve never heard of. You can read more about the company here.
- What is the pass mark for the assessment?
The pass mark for the assessment is a closely-guarded secret. We only use it for hiring people into the business, and no one person’s result is shared beyond the Talent team.
- Why do we have to do a personality assessment?
We want to find out if the role is a good fit for you, but also you are a good fit for the role. If the role you’re applying for matches up with your personality assessment results, you’re more likely to enjoy and be successful in that role.
- I’ve received the application by email, but I can’t access it?
If you have taken the test within the last six months and have been unsuccessful, you will not be able to retake it within that time frame. If this does not apply, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
- Do you have an employee referral program?
We sure do! One of the best ways to find great people is through our own great people. If you know someone that already works for us, please ask them about referring you for a role, or speak to one of our Talent team about it.
- Do I have to attach a CV?
Yes. Whilst we don’t use a CV as the primary selection criteria for a candidate, we still require each application to be verified with a CV.
- Is there a dress code?
We have a relaxed dress code that can be “dress for your day”. If you have a meeting with a client you would wear something more formal than what you would usually wear.
- What does the online assessment look like?

- What happens if I’ve applied before?
If you’ve been unsuccessful at the interview stage before with us, there will be a six month period where you will be unable to retake our assessment. If you have applied previously but haven’t been through the assessment process, please apply again or contact email@example.com
- I haven’t received an email after applying?
