Why AI Makes Our Hiring More Human, Not Less

At OneAdvanced, we're super excited about the future of hiring! I joined OneAdvanced as Director of Talent Acquisition having just built, scaled and exited my own Talent Acquisition SaaS business. I was looking to join an organisation truly leading the way in building incredible AI products, and I found one! Whilst we believe that AI is a game-changer even in the recruitment process, it's not a replacement for the human touch. Our goal is to use AI to make the hiring process more efficient, so our hiring teams can focus on what matters most, building meaningful relationships with candidates and creating an amazing experience.

The future of hiring isn't about choosing between technology and humanity; it's about combining both to create something extraordinary. We're building a recruitment experience that's efficient, transparent, and deeply personal.

Think of AI as the ultimate assistant for our hiring teams. It takes care of the repetitive tasks that used to eat up hours of our recruiters' time, scheduling interviews and managing initial communications. This automation isn't about cutting corners; it's about freeing our team to focus on what truly matters: getting to know you. 

When our recruiters aren't buried in administrative tasks, they can spend quality time understanding your career aspirations, exploring your motivations, and discovering what makes you tick. Exploring and using AI tools will help us identify talented candidates quickly, but it's our human team who recognise the spark in your eyes during an interview, who understand the story behind your career choices, and who can envision how you'll thrive in our culture. Technical skills and experience matter, they're just the starting point. We're looking for people who share our values of curiosity, connection, accountability, and integrity. We know there are AI tools out there that can spot relevant keywords on your CV and screens profiles for the Talent Team, we do not use them. At OneAdvanced real humans review CVs!

This is where human intuition becomes irreplaceable. Our recruiters notice how you approach problem-solving, how you communicate your ideas, and whether you light up when talking about continuous learning. They recognise the subtle signs that indicate you'll not just succeed in the role but genuinely enjoy the journey. We believe you deserve to understand exactly how our hiring process works, including how AI fits into the picture. We're not hiding behind algorithms or making mysterious decisions. Our AI tools support our human judgment; they don't replace it. 

Nobody enjoys the frustrating parts of job hunting, delayed responses, unclear next steps, or feeling like you've disappeared into a recruitment black hole. Using AI will help us eliminate these pain points by ensuring consistent communication and smooth scheduling (but we’re not perfect). Because we want to keep humans in the loop, sometimes we do get it wrong. A delayed response, a mis timed email. We’re getting better but we are still learning! 

We cannot ignore that AI is also being used by you, our candidates! We know AI is a great tool to improve your CV, to get your cover letter ready and to support you on your research when exploring companies. For us to be able to get to know you, as we have expressed previously, you need to show us who you are. If you hide behind AI copy paste versions of yourself, we will not be able to really get to know you. This is why, we do not want to discourage the use of AI on applications, but we expect our candidates to use AI in a way that is still enables us to see who they are.
